St. Theresa Medical Training College – Kiirua is a newly established institution under the Catholic Diocese of Meru, located in Buuri East Sub-County, Kiirua Market, approximately 300 metres from the Meru–Nanyuki Highway. The College was inaugurated on 22nd August 2025 as one of the Apostolic Services of the Congregation of the Little Sisters of St. Therese of the Child Jesus. It is a sister institution to St. Theresa Mission Hospital – Kiirua (STMH-K), a Level 5 faith-based healthcare facility with a bed capacity of 235.
We believe that medical training is not merely an academic exercise — it is a vocation. Our students do not just learn about healthcare; they live it every day, rotating through real wards, serving real patients, and being mentored by experienced clinicians within a Level 5 teaching hospital. The Kenya Nursing Council formally accredits the Diploma in Community Health Nursing (Pre-Service) programme at St. Theresa Mission Hospital – Kiirua, marking a key milestone in professional nursing training in the region.
STMTC-K registers with the Technical and Vocational Education and Training Authority of Kenya, aligning with national education policy frameworks.
St Theresa Mission Hospital Laboratory achieves KENAS ISO 15189:2012 international accreditation — one of Kenya's first mission hospital labs to reach this standard. Our students now train in a globally recognised facility.
