Common Questions

What are the minimum entry requirements for the nursing programme?
You need a KCSE mean grade of C (Plain) or above, with at least C in Biology and English or Kiswahili, and Cโ€“ in Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics or Physical Sciences. Minimum age of entry is 17 years. The programme is the Diploma in Community Health Nursing (Pre-Service) โ€” KRCHN.
When is the next intake and how many spaces are available?
The next intake is March 2027. There are 99 spaces available. The application deadline is December 31, 2026. We recommend applying early โ€” shortlisted applicants will be invited for an interview, and successful applicants notified within two weeks.
How much are the total fees for the nursing programme?
Annual fees are approximately KSh 85,000. An application fee of KSh 1,000 (non-refundable) is payable upon application. Download the full fee structure here.
Is HELB available for students at STMTC-K?
Yes. Qualifying Kenyan students can apply for HELB (Higher Education Loans Board) loans. Contact our Finance Office for guidance on the HELB application process.
Is accommodation available on campus?
Yes. We have on-campus hostels within the St. Theresa Mission Hospital compound โ€” separate male and female facilities with 24-hour security, supervised by the College Matron. Hostel fees are separate from tuition.
What documents do I need to apply?
  • Application Letter (ensure contact details are included)
  • KCSE Certificate and School Leaving Certificate (Result Slip accepted if certificate not yet issued)
  • KCPE Certificate and School Leaving Certificate
  • National Identity Card or Waiting Card
  • Birth Certificate
  • 2 Coloured passport-size photographs
  • Baptism Card or Recommendation Letter from Church
  • Police Clearance Certificate (Certificate of Good Conduct)

How do I access the Student Portal?
Current students access the portal at app.cloudschool.co.ke/student/login. Login credentials are issued by the ICT department upon enrolment. For access issues, contact ict@sttheresamedcollege.co.ke.
Is STMTC-K accredited and government recognised?
Yes. Our programme is fully accredited by the Nursing Council of Kenya (NCK) and registered with the TVET Authority of Kenya. Graduates are registered as Kenya Registered Community Health Nurses (KRCHN).
